Guide for Businesses in Colombia

Updated over a month ago

Use this guide to register your properties on the SIRE platform of Migration Colombia. Before you begin, consider the following recommendations:

You will need a SIRE account for each property you manage, regardless of whether they are in the same address or have the same RNT.

If you manage the entire building where all the properties are located, you can request a single account for the whole building.

  1. Go to the link https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/sire/public/login.jsf and select the option "Registro de Persona que Reporta" or "Persona Jurídica."

  2. Mark the option "Alojamiento" in the section "Tipo de reporte."

  3. Now, select the type of person. If the property owner is an individual, select "Persona natural con actividad comercial." You will need a RUT to create your user. If you are operating through a company, select "Persona jurídica."

  4. Complete all the personal or company information based on the type of person selected.

In this example, we explain the data you should enter if you select "Persona natural con actividad comercial":

  • NIT: Enter your RUT number (usually your ID number).

  • Verifying digit: The number next to your ID on the RUT.

  • Mercantile registration (optional): The Chamber of Commerce number if you have one.

  • Economic activity: You can select "Alojamiento (55)" or "Actividades de alojamiento de estancias cortas."

  • Company name: Enter the building name and apartment number. If it's a house, enter "Casa de alquiler turístico + Address."

  • Legal representative name: Your full name as it appears on your RUT and/or Chamber of Commerce.

  • Business group, Consortium, Association: Leave this blank.

  • Nature: Private.

  • Start of operations: The date you began operations.

5. Now, attach the supporting documents for your request. Only PDFs.

For an individual with commercial activity, select the option "Documento de identificación del representante legal" and attach a copy of your RUT.

If you attach your ID, your request will not be approved. The RUT in PDF format is required.

If you have Chamber of Commerce registration, attach it as well by selecting "Matrícula mercantil" and then clicking "Agregar."

6. The next step is to enter the property location. Please be as precise as possible, and ensure it matches the information on the RNT.

7. Now, enter the details of the person responsible for making the report. This person will be responsible for accessing the platform to monitor the submission of the reports.

8. Lastly, enter the security text:

If you manage multiple properties, consider the following:

  • If you manage the entire building, you can use a single SIRE registration to report all guests.

  • If the properties are in different locations, you will need a SIRE code for each property. We recommend the following:

Complete the first registration for property #1 following this guide.

For registering the second property, when entering the RUT number, add the number 2 at the beginning.

Repeat these steps until all properties are registered. The platform administrators will identify that it is the same person and create your SIRE accounts.
