Below are the acceptable documents required by Stripe for users in this country.

If you are using Stripe in the Dominican Republic, you must provide specific documents to verify your identity, address, and legal entity.
Common Requirements:

  1. Document Format:

    • Document copies and scans must be in PDF format, taken directly from the original document. They must not be processed, converted, or embedded in other files.

    • Photos of physical documents must be the original, unprocessed image in JPEG or PNG format.

    • Screenshots are not acceptable.

    • If the back side of a document contains required information, include it using the document_back parameter when submitting via the Stripe API.

  2. Image Quality:

    • Photos and scans of Photo IDs must be in color.

    • Photos of paper documents must be in color, while scans of paper documents (not Photo IDs) may be black and white.

    • Ensure all images are clear, high-quality, and legible.

    • Documents must not be cropped or missing important pages. All borders must be visible.

  3. Document Validity:

    • Identity and legal entity documents must not be expired.

  4. Special Case:

    • If the country of residence differs from the country of the account, a passport is required for identity verification.


Acceptable Documents in the Dominican Republic:

  1. Proof of Identity:

    • Cédula de Identidad y Electoral (Dominican ID) or Passport (for foreign residents).

    • Dominican citizens are encouraged to use their Cédula de Identidad y Electoral as the primary document for identity verification.

  2. Proof of Address:

    • Utility bills (water, electricity, gas), bank statements, or government-issued correspondence.

    • The address must match the one registered with your Stripe account.

  3. Proof of Legal Entity:

    • RNC (Registro Nacional de Contribuyentes), company registration certificates, or corporate bylaws.

    • These documents must display the official name of the entity and the country of registration.
