When using Stripe in Peru, certain documents are required to verify your identity, address, and legal entity.

Common Requirements:

  1. Document Format:

    • Document copies and scans must be in PDF format, taken directly from the original document. They must not be processed, converted, or embedded in other files.

    • A picture of a physical document must be the original, unprocessed image in JPEG or PNG format.

    • Screenshots are not acceptable.

    • If the back side of a document contains required information, make sure to submit it using the document_back parameter.

  2. Image Quality:

    • Photos and scans of Photo IDs must be in color.

    • Photos of paper documents must be in color, but scans of paper documents (not Photo IDs) may be black and white.

    • Ensure that the images are not of low quality.

    • All documents must be legible and in a valid file format.

    • Documents must not be cropped or missing important pages. Ensure all borders are visible.

  3. Document Validity:

    • Identity and legal entity documents must not be expired.

  4. Special Cases:

    • If the country of residence differs from the country of the account, a passport is required for identity verification.

Acceptable Documents in Peru:

  1. Proof of Identity:

    • Peruvian DNI (National Identity Document) or passport.

    • The DNI is the primary document for identity verification in Peru, but if you are a foreign resident or the country of residence differs, a passport is required.

  2. Proof of Address:

    • Utility bills (water, electricity, gas), bank statements, or official government correspondence.

    • Ensure that your address is clearly visible and matches the address you provided during Stripe registration.

  3. Proof of Legal Entity:

    • RUC (Single Taxpayer Registry) or registration certificate from SUNAT, company incorporation documents, or public registration certificate.

    • These documents must show the official name of the entity and the country of registration.

Tips for Submitting Documents:

  • Make sure all documents are legible and current.

  • If submitting via Stripe API, ensure to include both sides of documents if required.

  • Double-check that the name and address on your documents match those on your Stripe account.
