1. VRBO Account Verification
Before proceeding with the connection, ensure that your VRBO account is not linked to a previous property management system (PMS) through an API. If your account was previously connected to a PMS using the XML API, you will see a message indicating this connection.
Note: If your account is still linked to a previous channel manager, the property owner or administrator will need to contact VRBO support to revert it to a normal account (without a channel manager). Attempting to connect while it's still linked to previous software may cause issues.
2. Instructions for Disconnecting from a Previous Channel Manager
If you need to disconnect your VRBO account from a previous channel manager, follow these steps:
Contact VRBO support and request:
"Please disconnect my account from my current channel manager, I will manage the extranet manually."
Once your account is converted back to a normal account with VRBO payments, it will be ready to connect to AlojatePro.
3. How to Connect AlohaPro with VRBO
To proceed with the connection, you will need the following property details:
VRBO username
VRBO password
Login code (sent to the property owner's phone when attempting to connect).
Navigate to the left sidebar and select "Channel Manager" and then "Channels." Create a new channel.
Entering Credentials: Enter the VRBO username and password in the provided fields in AlohaPro.
Authentication: Click the authentication button (avoid using the "test connection" button).
Login Code: Enter the code sent to the property owner’s phone in the corresponding field.
Update: If the connection is not made at this point, save the channel and refresh the browser.
Confirmation: If everything works correctly, you should see the available listings in the mapping page. If not, contact our support team.
4. Mapping Properties in AlohaPro
Once the VRBO account is connected, the next step is to map the properties. If the pop-up window is closed, select "Actions" on the channel, then "Edit" and go to "Mapping."
Viewing Listings: The mapping page in AlojatePro will show all available property listings to connect.
Mapping Rooms and Rates: Select a room and rate to map them to the listings you want to connect.
Activating the Channel: After completing the mapping, activate the channel to finish the connection.
Once you've configured the three points in "Listing," save the changes. The pop-up window will close, and we need to activate the channel in "Actions" 🔽 and select "Activate."
After this process, three actions must be done once when you connect and map the channel for the first time:
Full Synchronization: Go to "Actions" 🔽, open the menu, click "Full Synchronization," and then "OK."
Extract Future Reservations: Go to "Actions" 🔽, open the menu, click "Extract Future Reservations," and then "OK."
Full Sync.
5. Common Issues and Incidents
While most connections happen without issues, some common incidents may occur:
Automatic Disconnection: Sometimes, the channel disconnects automatically. This usually happens when the user changes their VRBO password. If this occurs, you will receive an email notifying you of the issue.
6. Supported Features in VRBO Connection
Our system currently supports the following features when connecting to VRBO:
ARI Updates: This includes availability, rates, and restrictions.
Receiving Reservations: You will be able to receive new, modified, and canceled reservations directly in AlojatePro.
7. Features Not Supported Yet
It’s important to note that we currently do not support the following features in the VRBO integration:
Messages: Messaging functionality is not supported at this time.
Reviews: It's also not possible to manage reviews through this integration.
